Dear colleagues,

I am writing to inform you that a meeting of the PARIS collaboration will take place at the Department of Physics at the University of York on 8th and 9th May.

The agenda is yet to be fully decided but is like to comprise a meeting of the collaboration occupying the full day of 8th May, with opportunity to continue particular issues on the morning of 9th May as necessary. A meeting of the PARIS steering committee will also take place on 9th May.

Accommodation is available on the University campus in Wentworth College which is only a few hundred metres from the Physics Department where the meeting will take place. This accommodation comprises single rooms, en-suite at the rate of 44.50 GBP bed and breakfast. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be booked through David Jenkins (dj4@york.ac.uk).

The historic walled city of York is situated 200 miles north of London. While only a small city, York is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK - see http://www.york-tourism.co.uk.
York can be reached in two hours by direct train from Manchester airport. Airports at Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle and Doncaster/Sheffield are also within one hour's travel of York. These airports are well served by cheap flights with airlines such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Wizzair. Flying to London airports is not recommended as it can be slow and expensive to make the onward journey to York.

For travellers from Paris, York is reached by train in five hours using the Eurostar (www.eurostar.com) and connecting between London St Pancras International and King's Cross station, which are only 100 m apart. (I highly recommend this very comfortable possibility!)

Please note that we hope it should be possible to support your attendance to this meeting through the SPIRAL2 funding coming via GANIL, but this agreement may not be signed until March/April so cannot be guaranteed at this time.
